Updating Deprecated Campaigns

This support document will walk you through updating deprecated campaigns

If you’ve been with Lead Prosper for a while, you may remember a time when you had to choose if you wanted a single buyer campaign with multiple suppliers, a single supplier campaign with multiple buyers, or a multi-multi setup.

After seeing users choose one of the first two options and get boxed in when they wanted to expand, we eventually decided all campaigns should default to multiple suppliers and multiple buyers to offer users the flexibility to add on both the supply-side and buy-side down the road.

If you’re seeing one of the new “deprecated campaign” icons, that means you have one of the original single-supplier or single buyer campaigns — first of all, thanks for being a loyal customer! While your deprecated campaign will continue to work just fine indefinitely, migrating the campaign to the latest version will enable additional functionalities like budget caps and system shortcodes that we’ve added since, and other exciting features that are currently in the pipeline.

Migrating from a deprecated campaign to an updated one is incredibly easy. It takes just a few clicks on your end and requires your publisher or supplier (or you if you’re generating your own leads) to update just 3 values in the API specs for the campaign. Let’s walk through it quickly.

First, identify the campaign you want to update. Click the edit cog, then click migrate.

Click the green migrate button in the popup to proceed.

Now, you’ve created an identical, updated version of the campaign with the exact same clients, fields, filters, webhooks and triggers, etc.

Data will continue to flow to the old campaign from wherever it originates. To point the flow of data at your new campaign, you’ll need to send your supplier (or update your form) with the new lp_campaign_id, lp_supplier_id, and lp_key detailed in your new campaign’s API specs.

And that’s it! Updating your campaign won’t disrupt the flow of data, but if you’d rather not worry about it, you don’t have to do anything. We aren’t phasing out support for the older campaigns — we just want you to have access to all the updated features we’ve already released, and additional capabilities that we’re working on.
