Adding A New Supplier To A Campaign

Adding a Supplier to a Campaign takes only a few steps. Once created, you can send the Supplier their API specs and configure optional settings like pricing, caps, and notifications.

Creating the Supplier

  1. Go to your Campaign and under the Suppliers list, select New Supplier.
  2. A pop-up will appear prompting you to select the Client for this new Supplier.
    • If the Client is not in the list, select Create new client. You only need to enter the Client's company name and hit Save.
  3. The Supplier is now created. You can grab their API specs to send to your Client.

Supplier Settings

After a Supplier is created, you can configure the following settings:

Buy Price — On a Direct Post campaign, the buy price can be set to either Static or Conditional Pricing. On a Ping Post Exchange, the buy price is set to real-time, meaning it is determined by the buyer's bid price adjusted for any margins and/or penalties.

Leads Cap — Volume caps that can be set by day, week, month, or total.

Budget Cap — Budget caps that can be set by day, week, month, or total.

Ping Cap — Available only on a Ping Post Exchange. Ping Caps throttle the Supplier by capping the number of PINGs they can send into the exchange on a daily, hourly, or minute basis.

Notification Settings — Cap notifications can be sent to up to 5 email addresses when a cap has reached a certain threshold. Up to 3 different thresholds can be set per Supplier. You can also set a notification to be sent if the cap has not been reached within its given time setting.

Margin Override — Available only on a Ping Post Exchange. A margin override allows you to give an individual Supplier a margin that differs from the Default Margin defined in the campaign settings.

Minimum Required Buyer Bid — Available only on a Ping Post Exchange. If a buyer returns a bid price below the amount set here, the ping is automatically rejected. This applies to the exact price returned by the buyer and does not account for margins or penalties.

Test Mode and Going Live

When a new Supplier is created, it is automatically placed in Test Mode. This allows the Supplier to send test leads into the campaign to verify that all data is formatted correctly before live traffic begins.

Test leads only check whether a lead can be ingested — they are not evaluated against filters, caps, validations, or any other campaign logic.

Test leads can be triggered in two ways:

  • Leave the Supplier in Test Mode — all leads sent by the Supplier are treated as tests.
  • Include lp_action=test  in an individual post — useful for testing specific leads from a live Supplier without affecting real traffic.

After reviewing a test lead to confirm all expected fields are present, correctly named, and properly formatted, disable Test Mode from the Campaign Page by clicking the Supplier's cog wheel and selecting Disable Test Mode. The Supplier will then begin ingesting live leads for distribution to Buyers.
